Melodie is a doctorally prepared, board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with decades of mental health experience, including practice in emergency room psychiatric medicine, forensic psychiatric medicine, community and indigenous mental health, adult and child partial hospitalization, ADHD testing, and working with and prescribing for emergency service workers (such as police, fire, and ambulance), as well as veterans through the Department of Veterans Affairs; she is licensed to prescribe all mental health and addiction medications. Melodie has been in private practice for almost a decade and recently relocated to Arkansas to be near her five children and ten grandchildren.
Melodie holds degrees, licensures, and certifications in Adult & Family Psychiatric Care, Child & Adolescent Psychology, Public Health Nursing, Suicide Risk Assessment and Management, Motivational Interviewing, TOVA testing, and in the SHARE© Approach to patient-provider decision-making. Dr. Dohm is published in SAGE Journals’ Creative Nursing, Volume 31, Issue 2, for her study, Costly Consequences: Increasing Medication Adherence to Support Mental Health Stability (https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/10784535251327563), in which she demonstrated a 66% improvement in medication adherence among her patients. In addition to accepting new mental health patients, she is conducting a quality improvement initiative to monitor patient response to a medication used in a novel way for pornography addiction in her practice, aiming to demonstrate improved outcomes and to better support behavioral recovery.
